Mold Removal Strategies for Residences

While mold damage in Morris Plains can be a highly damaging incident, one of the lingering effects that present an obstacle to comfortable living is harsh odors. Volatile organic compounds generate strong smells that overtake damaged areas of your home, requiring effective deodorization to resolve.

Counteractant Solutions and Early Remediation

With harsh odors, it is necessary to reduce the severity of these smells as quickly as possible. Counteractant products like beads and granules can both be placed in locations where airflow is the greatest. These counteractants absorb much of the musty smell before full deodorization follows. Surface remediation can also be instrumental in reducing the severity of mold odors.

Deodorization Practices Remove Harsh Odors

One of the final steps in removing harsh odors from the property is to use our deodorization equipment in our inventory. Often, a range of tools is required to overcome musty smells president after mold damage. Hydroxyl generators and thermal foggers can both play a significant role in neutralizing remaining odors. The three most common deodorization tools include:

  • Hydroxyl machines
  • Ozone generators

SERVPRO Techs Bring Years of Experience to Morris Plains Homes for Professional Mold Removal Results

Mold damage in Morris Plains properties has numerous signs before it is visible. Some of the symptoms of behind-the-scenes mold colony infestations include musty odors, damp places on sheetrock, and loosened tiles on walls or floors. These are all signs a home should undergo a professional mold inspection.

SERVPRO techs can inspect Morris Plains homes to see if mold removal is warranted. A common situation is a slow leak under a bathtub can cause mold growth in the floor joists. Once the colonies establish themselves, they can easily spread throughout the structure's interior before making any type of appearance on the surface of the bathroom walls or ceilings below. If the temperatures are over 70-degrees Fahrenheit on a steady basis, naturally occurring mold spores can germinate and spread as quickly as 48-hours after the leak started. SERVPRO technicians use their equipment to map out the areas with mold growth carefully, so only those locations get the needed controlled demo and remediation. At the first sign of a long-term leak or musty odors, SERVPRO recommends getting the property scoped for potential issues that need repair.

Mold Removal Tactics Include:

  • Removal of ruined building materials
  • Lowering interior humidity below 50%
  • Cleaning and treatment with professional antimicrobial solutions

SERVPRO of East Central Morris County at (973) 887-9100 for a professional inspection and mold removal services in Morris Plains properties. Through their comprehensive on-going training and experience, they can make the mold infestation, “Like it never even happened.”

Montville Residents Live in One of the Nation’s Happiest Counties

1/17/2021 (Permalink)

When your home is damaged by a fire, quick action is necessary. Contact team SERVPRO for knowledgeable technicians.

Morris County rates much higher than areas east of Montville

There are many things which attract people to live in Montville and Morris County’s other small towns. One of these things is how daily life slows down and becomes more relaxed compared to life in or nearer a big city. However, there is more to it than just this.

Working close to where you live reduces travel time to and from work, but it can also reduce your income. Larger corporations pay more than smaller ones, but the much more affordable cost of living in Montville makes it possible for more people to support their families with employment closer to home. Many other aspects of our area contribute to how happy our residents are, compared to other places, both nearby and across America.

Plentiful parks and other outdoor places exist for recreation and relaxation.

While the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge is available for daytime use to the south of Montville, there are many smaller parks available right here in town. Montville Community Park and Camp Dawson have several athletic fields, perfect for soccer and football. Some are natural grass, with others endowed with synthetic turf. The Community Park also has a basketball court.

Other parks have areas specifically for softball and baseball games. They are:

  • Softball only –
    • Masar
    • Etta Konner
    • Michelle Sullivan Field
  • Baseball only –
    • Reilly
  • Both softball and baseball –
    • Municipal

Because so many baseball and softball leagues in the area use these during the season, you should consider making a reservation to ensure your group can access one.

Tennis courts are also available for use to the public when not in use by students. They are located at Montville High School.

These parks are all open to the public during the day, providing walkways, fresh air, playgrounds for children, and much more. Even during winter, physical activity can include enjoyable, outdoor activities. In warmer weather, more active individuals find the rink in nearby Boonton a fun place for hockey and roller skating. For more information about the recreational facilities in our area, you can call (973) 331-3305.

Educational opportunities continue to receive high ratings.

High school graduation rate is almost 95% with the national average almost reaching 89%. We have double the number of people who pursued higher education through a university or college than the national average, as well.

These figures might exist because our education system spends almost $10,000 more per student than the national average. Participation in extracurricular activities often results in an increase in grades and a sense of inclusion in a tight-knit community.

Employment rates and economic status are consistently stable and elevated.

Across Morris County, the median income is more than twice that of the national average. There is also a lower unemployment rate, showing stronger job stability, ensuring our residents experience less stress and more expendable income for the little extras that make life easier overall.

One expense that is lower than other areas is housing. Only 37 work hours a week is needed to pay for adequate housing throughout Morris County, while the national average requires four additional hours.

We experience fewer health problems.

Better overall health, namely lower diabetes rates and fewer individuals classified as obese, result in lower health costs, including insurance premiums. The reduction of these two often-debilitating health conditions might exist because of a scarcity of larger grocery stores. Smaller grocers tend to carry fewer empty-calorie items that can lead to both diabetes and obesity.

Two other factors that also improve health is our increased engagement in physical activity during our free time. Instead of merely watching a movie, many of us prefer to go outside and take a walk or find something else to do that actively entertains us. We also smoke less than the national average.

Happiness spreads, increasing everyone’s well-being.

Montville in Morris County is one of the happiest places in America and this makes it one of the most livable in New Jersey. Just east of us, nearer to New York, lay several cities with less favorable living standards. These include:

  • Paterson – an extremely high number of abandoned homes,
  • Union City – a dense population with inadequate green space, and
  • Newark – youth problems, including dropout levels, teen pregnancy, and substance abuse.

We enjoy a balance between closeness to a metropolis (New York) without an excess of the unwanted effects that often come with such nearness. Perhaps these other cities provide us with a buffer from such problems.

Why SERVPRO Uses Thermal Fogging to Mitigate Fire Damage in Montville

When someone’s property in Montville experiences a fire, odor is sometimes overlooked until it continues. SERVPRO understands that odors come from microscopic particles that infiltrate a house’s materials, as well as the personal belongings of the family. We need a method that can get a deodorizing agent into the same places the fire’s heat pushed the foul-smelling smoke.

Obtaining an efficient and thorough result is why SERVPRO uses thermal fogging. The heat-activated deodorizing agent rapidly bonds to the odor-causing particles. The added weight keeps odors out of the air, effectively eliminating foul, acrid scents that homeowners notice even after cleanup of fire damage occurs.

How soot makes a residence smell awful after a fire.

Cleaning soot from surfaces and laundering textiles, in addition to performing upholstery cleaning and carpet shampooing, reduces the heaviest odors, but the hidden soot steadily disintegrates. As it does, soot’s now smaller, lighter-weight particles get picked up on air currents. Once bonded with the agent, a soot particle not only becomes too heavy to become airborne. These particles remain in this state and unable to disintegrate due to its encapsulation.

Soot is difficult to remove.

Because soot comes from partially burned materials, there are several types of soot. In a typical house fire, you might find:

  • Greasy soot from high-protein food,
  • Dry, dusty soot from wood and other dry cellulose, and
  • Thick, sticky soot from synthetic plastics.

Cleanup by hand requires special tools, and a lot of elbow grease. Although it can feel like it contains nothing harsh, both the particles and the melted chemicals can create a lot of damage the longer it sits on surfaces. Thermal fogging reaches areas we cannot get into with manual tools.

SERVPRO of East Central Morris County wants to help your family after a disaster affects your residence, including cleaning up fire damage like heavy, smelly soot. Call us at (973) 887-9100 any time day or night, year-round.

Are There Fire Damage Issues that Necessitate Hiring A Professional To Handle Fire Restoration?

9/24/2020 (Permalink)

Our fire damage experts can have your home back to its original state, “Like it never even happened”.

A Professional Team from SERVPRO Can Handle Fire Restoration at Your Montville Property, Preventing Many Simple Mistakes That Lead To Unnecessary Complications.

You probably think of hiring a professional fire restoration team as something to do because you do not have the means or time needed to handle the damage left at your Montville home. Sometimes, it is what you might consider simple aspects of restoration that make such a decision necessary.

Which simple issues can complicate fire restoration at a Montville home?

  • Moving around the house without taking protective measures
  • Unplanned washing of walls and other surfaces
  • Washing upholstery or carpets
  • Failure to protect chrome and metallic items

Unrestricted movement by people around a fire-damaged property can change the situation by spreading soils around or impregnating them on materials such as upholstery, woodwork, and walls. When you handle restoration on your own, you might have a hard time controlling movements since friends and family may want to come over to see the damage and give you advice on what to do. When our SERVPRO team takes over the restoration of your property, we can limit unnecessary movements since we send a small team of technicians. We also erect barriers to control access to some areas.

Why would washing walls, carpets, and upholstery be problematic?

Ideally, cleaning the materials should help remove soils such as soot, restoring them to their preloss state. However, your actions can end up worsening the situation by:

  • Setting soils
  • Damaging material chemically or physically
  • Spreading the soils

Removing soot from materials requires a proper understanding of its chemical composition so that you can use the right chemical agent to strip it off from the material. Using the wrong cleaning agent can set the soils or cause staining. Some chemicals can also damage the underlying material. Our SERVPRO technicians follow the directions provided on product labels when making a choice or applying the products. We also have specially formulated VOC compliant and readily biodegradable cleaning products.

SERVPRO of East Central Morris County can help you deal with simple or complex issues after a fire incident. Call us at (973) 887-9100 to help. We're Faster To Any Size Disaster.

What Are Some Things I Might Not Anticipate Happening During Water Restoration Work in My Morris Plains Home?

8/11/2020 (Permalink)

We are always ready and available to handle yoru water damage restoration emergency.

Water Restoration for Your Morris Plains Dwelling Is Often a New Experience, Why SERVPRO Promotes Transparent Communication and Prompt Answers to Every Concern

Water damage in your Morris Plains home creates a stressful and confusing situation. It is highly unlikely that you have experience with significant water intrusions inside your home, so you are on a steep learning curve. Many of the interventions a water restoration company pursues to return your home to the preloss condition are common sense, albeit more extreme versions of how you might have managed it on your own. Other responses might be surprising, while the third category of approaches frankly may shock you. We commit to keeping the conversation going throughout the restoration project, why we anticipate what we can and answer your questions honestly for the rest.

What Types of Restoration Services Seem Straightforward?

As you await our crew, you probably will pick items off the floor and move some things up, smart ways to protect the structure and contents of your Morris Plains home before water restoration efforts begin in earnest. You might also sweep water toward a floor drain or drop absorbent towels on puddles. You could consider revving the wet/dry vac in the basement or garage to suction standing water. We also do many of these actions as emergency services, but our equipment and tools are more powerful and targeted, why we can move large amounts of water fast. After the crew chief gives the okay, the mitigation begins:

  • Submersible pumps take on water more than two inches deep, their flexible piping directing water to a treated sewer line
  • Truck-mounted and portable extractors move in after the pumping, using commercial-strength negative pressure to remove the bulk of the standing water, similar but much more efficiently than your home wet vac.
  • Squeegees and brooms move water toward drains and the extractors for removal, and we clean up debris.

Are Water Restoration Services Surprising?

Water and Moisture Detection

Water migrates into cracks and crevices why SERVPRO does not rely merely upon visuals to determine where the water is in your structure. To locate hidden water, trapped in building cavities, we might utilize tools that sample materials to indicate if moisture is present:

  • Moisture Detectors-- the detectors have probes, some penetrating, that cause the apparatus to light up or make a beep when it locates moisture. We can use these tools to trace a water intrusion, although many tests need doing to outline edges of the moisture.
  • Infrared Imaging Camera-- the camera provides images of temperature fluctuations that must be interpreted by a trained technician. The images show both collected or pooled water and structures with absorbed moisture. Neither form of water should be in building materials. Still, the removal strategies vary depending on whether the water is absorbed into components like framing, insulation, and drywall or represents a cache of fluids.
  • Moisture Meters-- these tools measure the amount of water absorbed into porous materials. Some are penetrating and give levels for different layers. Others use sensors that test how conductive a material seems because moisture increases conductivity. False readings can occur if the sensor reacts to other conductive materials like nails, brads, staples, and other metal fasteners.
  • Testing is Somewhat of an Art -- experts recommend that the same technician do all of the moisture detection and measurements for a single job. The suggestion reflects the subjective tendency of the testing. Having one person responsible for testing initially and throughout the project offers consistency as drying goals become attainable. Drying goals also depend on testing similar materials in an unaffected area of your home, so there are no “absolute” moisture levels guiding structural drying. Instead, in comparison with what we believe is an average level for your home is the touchstone.

Are Water Restoration Interventions Shocking?

As homeowners cope with the mess and disruption of water damage in Morris Plains, the last thing most would expect is the purposeful destruction of building materials as a restoration tactic. Despite the tearing out materials or cutting or drilling holes, controlled demolition does offer benefits and is why we use it:

  • It removes ruined materials in a measured and methodical way that allows for water release and better airflow for drying (flood cuts)
  • It gradually releases water to prevent collected fluids from crashing through structures (ceiling weep holes that start at the wall and move toward the middle of the room, only as each hole causes the collected water slowly to drain away)
  • It avoids significant demolition of hard-to-built-back structures like brick or cinder block construction, allowing water to drain through holes drilled in grout or mortar lines

Training, experience, and a commitment to always meet or exceed the industry’s best practices is why SERVPRO of East Central Morris County delivers outstanding water restoration outcomes. One call to (973) 887-9100 gets the team rolling -- We’re Faster To Any Size Disaster.

4/13/2020 (Permalink)

Restoration by SERVPRO after Fire Damage in a Morris Plains Home is "Matchless"

SERVPRO Handles Debris Removal in Morris Plains to Get Your Fire Damaged Home Back to Normal

Following a fire loss event in your Morris Plains home, all of the debris and waste can seem daunting. Not only do you have to remove unsalvageable belongings and furniture, but certain areas of your structure may also have to be completely stripped down. When you hire professional restoration services, expert technicians get to work immediately to address any debris to clean up the impacted space.

Why Should I Call SERVPRO for Fire Damage Services?

Our team is quick to act when it comes to addressing debris removal from fire damage in Morris Plains. We arrive on your property and determine the scope of the project, which allows us to select the best size dumpster. The cleanup then commences, and we get it done quickly so that your restoration can begin, and you are one step closer to your home being “Like it never even happened.”

Can I Clean My Own Home After a Fire?

With any fire loss, materials burn inside the structure and leave behind soot residue and burnt particles that cause unpleasant aromas. Along with safely removing all charred materials and debris, trained technicians also have the skills and products necessary to thoroughly deodorize your home to rid the structure of any foul odors.

During a fire-related restoration call, our technicians work to:

•    Secure the building to ensure safety for our crew as we go through the steps of restoration; we put our General Contractor License #: 13VH06046200 to work
•    Inspect your property, taking note of any potential hazards
•    Address any potential safety issues, including burned and hanging drywall, broken lighting fixtures, and other hazards

After our team does the initial assessment and deem the structure safe, we then start to remove any items that are severely burnt and unsalvageable. There are many times after a fire loss where materials are charred to the point that they must be removed entirely and replaced. However, there are times when our skilled crew can salvage them using specialized cleaning and restoration techniques.

How Do You Deal with Charred Building Materials?

There are a few different ways that we address charring during a fire damage job, including:

•    If the charring is only around a quarter of an inch deep within the building materials, such as wooden studs, our crew may remove just a portion of it. Once the charred content gets removed, we can then seal it and refinish, if necessary. In some cases, we may also use agitation to remove charring to go onto the next phases of the restoration process.
•    If the charring is substantial, our technicians may use sanding to remove as much as possible. Steel scrub brushes work well to remove burned materials, but we also have the option of dry ice blasting or soda blasting to work on removing charring.

How is the Debris Taken Care Of?

The disposal of garbage and debris is taken seriously by our team at SERVPRO. The EPA calls for proper, timely, and safe management of all waste produced from a fire. Proper management of debris is necessary to reduce injuries on the site, to protect human health, and to cut back on environmental impact. We take control of all debris and damage by setting up proper disposal protocols to remove all unsalvageable materials, charred wood, rubble, and ash.

How Do You Ensure My Home is Free of Smoke Damage?

After a fire in your Morris Plains home, SERVPRO has several methods for removing difficult soot and smoke residue. During the fire, hot smoke permeates all areas of the house, penetrating porous materials and flowing through walls. The nature of the smoke that developed during the blaze plays a role in the types of measures that we take to proceed with odor restoration.

There are several types of smoke, both wet and dry, that pose a challenge after a fire. Our technicians test out the soot located through your home to determine the damage level and to select the right cleaning procedures.

•    Dry Smoke – This type of smoke develops at higher temperatures. This fast-burning smoke tends to rise with the heat from the fire and comes from materials like wood and paper.
•    Wet Smoke – This type of smoke is created with lower heat that often comes from burning plastics and rubber. Such smoke is difficult to clean because it webs, creating a pungent, sticky residue that smears to the touch.

We use a variety of deodorization tools and products to help remove smoke odors and particles from your home. The goal is to make sure that your interior is returned to pre-fire loss condition.

•    Air Scrubbers help to remove various airborne particles from the air.
•    Injection Devices allow us to impart small amounts of deodorizers into upholstery, carpeting, or confined spaces.
•    Wet Fogging equipment works by atomizing deodorizing liquids to produce a fine mist, which combines with odor-causing particles.
•    Dry Fogging equipment, or thermal foggers, works by vaporizing solvent-based deodorizers that chemically react with residues that cause odor, thus eliminating them rather than masking them.

When it comes to all of your debris removal and fire damage restoration needs, SERVPRO of East Central Morris County is here to help. Call us at (973) 887-9100, and we can send out a team 24/7 for assessment.

Keeping Water Cleanup Timeframes as short as possible for Morris Plains Residents

2/19/2020 (Permalink)

Our SERVPRO teams are ready to assist your home with any water removal needed.

You Can Depend on SERVPRO’s Quick Response to Water Cleanup for Your Morris Plains Home

Water Cleanup Morris Plains

Your home features a network of pipes that transport water to and from your home. Some of these pipes may run into your heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) unit, into appliances like dishwashers, or release from showers and faucets. Behind the walls and ceilings of your home, there is a constant run of clean and contaminated water. A broken link in this long chain of residential water irrigation can lead to water release into regions of the home.

These broken links may be immediately noticeable as a clean water emergency or take several months before you become aware of a need for professional water cleanup services here in Morris Plains. Long-term water issues like slow leaks may be noticeable in reducing water pressure. You may also notice stagnant water, rust or discoloration in some areas of the home. SERVPRO technicians are capable of drying, cleaning, and restoring these areas on your behalf.

When water enters a dry region of the home, it immediately attracts microbial organisms, including bacteria and viruses. Bacteria can degrade both the water as well as any surfaces that the water contacts. Depending on the type of material, these issues may present as mold growth, dry rot, rusting or stagnation, and discoloration. Our technicians can use Borescopes to assess inside cavities, under floorboards, or enter your crawlspace to find the source of moisture and shut it off. Once the problem causing element is under control, we can work toward restoring the affected areas.

Restoration of a long-term water issue can be a noisy interference for homeowners. Some pieces of equipment produce white noise or generate power from an engine that can disturb the peace of your home. SERVPRO technicians keep timeframes as short as possible by inspecting each material and making a call on whether your claim suits restoration or replacement. Some building materials are cheaper to replace than they are to restore. Others may be time-consuming to remove and are better suited to structural cavity drying methods and disinfecting.

Keep control of sanitation in your property. Contact SERVPRO of East Central Morris County at (973) 887-9100 for water restoration experts.

Our entire team from our management to our field technicians have grown up and raised their families here in Jersey, so we have a heart for our communities whenever disasters strike.

Water

As certified water restorers, we have embodied the principle that there is no job too big or small for our team of professionals. We have extensive training and education through the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration Certification (IICRC) as Water Restoration Technicians (WRT.) As standard of a callout as this has become over the years, we have encouraged the majority of our staff and technicians to obtain their WRT certification as well. We stay prepared for any water loss incident that threatens Morris Plains homes by having more available qualified technicians on call for emergencies.

We know there is no convenient time for a crisis, so we stay stocked and ready to mobilize at the first signs of trouble. Our production vehicles have the top-tier equipment we need to get a job done efficiently and correctly. Our trucks have several of our air movers, dehumidifiers, and other specialty drying equipment ready to move. This preparedness has us reaching most Morris Plains residences within hours, beginning mitigation within the critical 48-hour window before the situation can become even direr.

No matter how severe water loss incidents become, our SERVPRO professionals have a tailored plan to help overcome water damage in Morris Plains properties. From our thorough inspection of your house to the use of premier extraction, drying, and cleaning tools and products, we can make losses “Like it never even happened.”

Mold

When water damage is allowed to persist without drying efforts, the results can be mold damage in Morris Plains residences. In as little as 48-72 hours, mold colonization can begin, and this involves the literal seating and spreading of present mold spores in the environment. Moist conditions can feed these microorganisms and help them to invade host materials and begin to grow and spread. Active colonization can be a threat to homeowners and any party exposed to volatile organic compounds the colony releases or the higher concentration of active spores.

Remediation is a practice that can help homeowners to get their property back to its original condition with minimal invasiveness and fallout as possible. The longer mold colonization can persist, the more likely that remediation routes must lean on controlled demolition and reinstallation of materials, so it is critical to act quickly to ensure that our SERVPRO team can manage active organisms with abrasive cleaning tactics such as media blasting and sanding to help installed structural elements remain.

We have several layers of mold effects that must get addressed before Morris Plains homeowners can return to life as normal. Our team must address the removal of colonies, the cleaning of the environment within the house with the use of air scrubbers and HEPA filters, and deodorization with premier odor removal systems like thermal foggers and hydroxyl generators.

Storm

How our team responds to storm damages that affect Morris Plains homes is critical to not only reducing the stress on the structure but also reducing the financial impact the restoration can have. Our team of professionals has been helping New Jersey residents overcome the worst of what Mother Nature can dole out since 2004, and in this time we have helped hundreds of homes and businesses to get back to preloss condition.

With a division of licensed (13VH06046200) general contractors, our SERVPRO team can handle multiple phases of repair and mitigation from the moment that we arrive at your damaged address. The installation of temporary construction solutions like roof tarps and plywood over openings can reduce water penetration and other threats that can follow storm damage in Morris Plains homes.

When contending with the flood damage that can often result from storms and structural breaches, we have a dedicated team of professionals with premier extraction and drying tools. With our fast response, we can reduce the deterioration of structural elements and construction materials and better protect the contents of Morris Plains residences.

Fire

Because fires can have such a destructive presence in Morris Plains homes, how our professionals respond to this situation speaks to our dedication to our customers. We follow immediately after the extinguishment from first responders to have the most precise look at the damage and to limit further exposure and detrimental effects as much as possible. We have a full-service team of general contractors to oversee controlled demolition, as well. These professionals can work alongside the technicians of our mitigation team to clear out damaged drywall, flooring, ceilings materials, and more that could harbor foul odors or soot particles. Because of our fast response to these emergencies, we aim to limit the tear-out and reconstruction necessary in Morris Plains homes after a fire.

There are many reasons that we have become a trusted name since we first opened our doors years ago, and it begins with our dedication to our customers and their properties. How Mold Affects Homes in Morris Plains

11/22/2019 (Permalink)

Is mold lurking in your home's structure? Call SERVPRO for our expert remediation.

Why SERVPRO’s Morris Plains Mold Damage Remediation Is Essential for Your Home’s Structure

Although most of the media attention on mold growth issues in Morris Plains and elsewhere focus on potential health issues, the harm microbial infestation can do to structures is also concerning. Mold spores need a source of moisture and a surface with organic materials available for nutrition. The surface often directly provides nutrition, including wood products, insulation, and fabrics. Failing to remediate the harm mold does to structure and contents can be devastating, why we follow the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) protocols.

Attend to Water Damage Promptly

You can avoid mold damage in Morris Plains in many cases by managing water losses quickly. After only 24 to 48 hours of inattention to a leak or spill, mold spores that continuously exist in your home use the moisture left behind as fuel to begin their life cycle. There are over 100,000 species of mold identified thus far. Many thrive at typical household temperatures and do not need anything more than a source of organic food, oxygen, and a bit of water to proliferate widely. Any water migrating behind, over, or under the original water crisis can start colonies of mold that live and grow in the dark, unobserved in building cavities, why we use moisture detecting and thermal imaging devices to locate the migration pathways.

Mold Deforms and Weakens Structures

Like other organisms, molds need food to survive. Often homeowners do not fully appreciate that the mold you see on a surface consumes the material upon which it rests. Hidden mold colonies are particularly problematic, taking their time to eat through wood framing, particleboard, insulation, drywall, ceiling tiles, and more. As the colonies multiply, the components that support your floors and walls weaken. As structural materials lose strength, they eventually fail in their purpose. Early mold remediation can halt this destructive course, why SERVPRO recommends calling us for an assessment if you smell a musty odor or have other reasons to suspect mold growth.

We train our remediation crews in containment, removal, and disinfection, why SERVPRO of East Central Morris County is a mold abatement industry leader. Call (973) 887-9100 at the earliest indication that mold damage is an issue in your home.

Why Professional Restoration is Necessary After Water Damage in Towaco

This is just some of our equipment that we use to dry your home and belongings. Call us today!

Why Invite SERVPRO to Do Clean Up after Water Damage in Your Towaco Home

Although water is the most popular medium for cleaning, uncontrolled spillage leaves properties soiled, thus requiring extensive cleanup. If there is an incident in your Towaco home, you can get a better outcome or faster results by involving a professional team to clean and restore damaged areas.

Comprehensive Cleaning of the Structure and Contents

Comprehensive cleanup of contents and building materials is essential after water damage affects your Towaco home even when there is minimal soiling. An issue such as exposure to high levels of humidity necessitates such action. Our SERVPRO technicians carry out a thorough evaluation of different areas, including closets, storage areas, and contents such as furniture and clothing, to determine what to clean. We also check decorative items such as wall hangings, for damage from condensation.

We Choose Appropriate Cleaning Methods

Each water loss situation presents unique challenges, including the level of moisture migration and intensity of soiling on different materials. For instance, soiling might only affect the tips of carpet fiber or ground down into the fibers. Our SERVPRO technicians choose a cleaning technique to match the type of soiling. For deep, heavy soiling, we use rotary jet extractor while deluxe pre-conditioner and rinse, or hot water extraction help with mild soling. In cases where the water spill only affects a section of a carpet, we wash the entire room for consistent results.

We Value What You Treasure

Just as the items in your house have different monetary values, their sentimental values also differ. Water damage happens indiscriminately, affecting even the items you value most. Common issues might include staining, structural deterioration due to water intrusion, and contamination. Our SERVPRO team evaluates everything determining salvageable items through processes such as cleaning or drying. We take note of items that you are worried about most, giving them top priority.

Water damage can lead to widespread damages in your Morris Plains, Montville, or Boonton home. Call SERVPRO of East Central Morris County to help. You can reach us at (973) 887-9100 at any time. We're Faster To Any Size Disaster.
